The Old Supermarket — A Treasure Box of Childhood Memories

Every time I walk into the old supermarket near my home, I feel like I am instantly transported back to my carefree childhood.
This small neighborhood store has been here for more than ten years. It doesn’t have the luxury of a large shopping mall, but it holds countless warm memories from my younger days.
When I was a child, my favorite thing was rushing into this little supermarket after school with a few coins tightly held in my hand.
The shop was small, the shelves were close together, but it contained all the happiness a child could imagine.
Glass jars filled with colorful candies, sweet and spicy snacks, crispy instant noodles, and tiny treats that cost only a few cents — every item felt like a precious treasure.
Back then, happiness was incredibly simple.
Spending one dollar on a snack and an ice pop could bring joy for an entire afternoon.
I loved standing near the checkout counter, watching the owner skillfully scan items and pack bags while chatting with him about interesting things that happened at school.
He was always warm and generous, sometimes even giving me an extra candy.
As I grew older, I visited many modern supermarkets and tried countless imported snacks, but I never found that same pure happiness from childhood.
Today, when I return to this old store, the decorations remain simple, and many products have changed. But the familiar warmth and neighborhood atmosphere remain exactly the same.
Perhaps supermarkets never truly store just food and snacks.
They preserve childhood memories, simple happiness, and the gentle moments we can never return to.
Time passes and years change, but thankfully, there are still small corners like this where we can occasionally look back and remember the warmth of our younger days.
